Research Areas:
Dr. Cummins teaches in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. His research has focused on the education of bilingual students and the possibilities and pitfalls of technology in education. Dr. Cummins has written and presented many works on second language learning and literacy development, including: Language and the Human Spirit (April 2002) and Bilingual Children's Mother Tongue: Why Is It Important for Education?
