Interests & Activities:
Christopher is interested in quality education as a civil right (human right), how to increase the socioeconomic status of Blacks, political science, Ancient African Civilizations, and business management. He is a member of the rap group, Militant Advocates, and loves to play basketball, chess, and video games.
Eighteen-year-old Christopher began working with the Baltimore Algebra Project (BAP) as a client while in 8th grade and became a tutor the following year. Today, he continues to work for BAP as Advocacy Committee Chair. He says he feels fortunate to receive income for part of the work, but he would be doing the work even if he wasn't being paid for it. Christopher says, “The Algebra Project is leading the fight for quality education for Baltimore City Public School Students by not giving up and continuing to organize youth and adults to pressure the City and State to provide a quality education for Baltimore City Public School students.”
