Ambrizeth Lima’s areas of research include immigrant studies and first and second language acquisition.
Activities & Honors:
Ambrizeth Lima is a language acquisition coach for Boston public schools. Her research areas of interest include: urban education; race, class, gender, and culture in education; first and second language acquisition; and immigrant studies. She has presented at numerous workshops that focus on the integration of immigrant communities in the U.S. and teaching immigrant families the role that their schools and communities play in the U.S. She emigrated from the Cape Verdean Islands when she was 15 and has remained committed to the work she does in her community. Lima received her doctorate in education and her masters in education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is also the co-founder of the Amilcar Cabral/Martin Luther King Junior Conference.
