Dr. Warren’s research focuses on understanding generative intersections between the everyday sense-making practices of children from historically underrepresented groups and disciplinary practices, particularly in the sciences and language arts, as a basis for creating more equitable opportunities to learn for all children.
Activities and Honors:
Beth Warren is Co-Director of the Chèche Konnen Center for Science Education Reform, TERC. She holds a doctorate in education from Harvard University. As co-director of the Chèche Konnen Center, through inquiry-based teacher professional development, she seeks to enhance educational opportunities in science and mathematics for children from diverse cultures and language communities. Warren’s research is funded by the National Science Foundation, CREDE, the National Center for Improving Student Learning and Achievement, and the Spencer Foundation.
